Happy Birthday June Babies

A very “ Happy Birthday “ to all of those born this month. As a “ June Baby” you have the lustrous Pearl as your birthstone.

Early Cultures believed that a Pearl was born when a single drop of rain fell from the heavens and became the “ heart of the Oyster. They were known as “Teardrops of the Sea”

Sadly the real formation of pearls is not as dramatic as that. It is a hard object produced within a soft tissue of a living shelled mollusk. Don’t despair though as Pearls represent Purity and Innocence hence the  tradition of brides wearing pearls on their wedding day.

Pearls are considered a rare find and are very valuable.

Not only is it the birthstone of June but it is also symbolic with 30th Wedding Anniversaries also known as the Pearl Anniversary.

When caring for your pearls it is important to avoid cosmetics as Pearls are organic gemstones  they are vulnerable to acid.
